Agreement to Terms

Welcome to RippleSum! By accessing or using our puzzle game (available at www.ripplesum.com and as a Progressive Web App), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use RippleSum.

These terms apply to all users, including visitors, players, and anyone who accesses the service.

Description of Service

RippleSum is a free daily puzzle game where players tap cells to ripple values to neighbors and merge matching numbers. The service includes:

• Daily puzzle challenges in 4×4 and 6×6 grid formats
• Anonymous leaderboards showing top scores
• Streak tracking for consecutive daily play
• Offline play capability through Progressive Web App technology
• No advertisements or in-app purchases

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire service at any time without prior notice.

User Accounts and Data

RippleSum does NOT require user registration or account creation. Instead:

• An anonymous user ID is automatically generated and stored locally on your device
• Your game progress, scores, and streaks are linked to this anonymous ID
• You are responsible for maintaining your device and browser data if you wish to preserve your progress
• We cannot recover lost progress if you clear your browser data or lose your device

Important: Clearing your browser cache or localStorage will reset your puzzle progress and streak count.

Acceptable Use Policy

When using RippleSum, you agree NOT to:

• Cheat or exploit: Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to manipulate scores or gameplay
• Reverse engineer: Attempt to decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from the application
• Interfere with service: Disrupt servers, networks, or other users' gameplay experience
• Spam leaderboards: Submit fraudulent scores or create multiple anonymous IDs to inflate rankings
• Violate laws: Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Impersonate: Falsely claim affiliation with RippleSum or its developers

Violation of these rules may result in removal of your scores from leaderboards or blocking your access to the service.

Intellectual Property Rights

Our Rights

All content, features, and functionality of RippleSum (including but not limited to puzzle designs, game mechanics, graphics, logos, and software) are owned by RippleSum and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Access and play RippleSum for personal, non-commercial use
• Install the PWA on your personal devices
• Share links to RippleSum on social media

Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our game code or assets
• Create derivative works based on RippleSum
• Remove copyright notices or branding from the application
• Use RippleSum's name or logo without written permission

User-Generated Content

RippleSum does not currently support user-generated content such as comments, reviews, or custom puzzles. If such features are added in the future, additional terms will be provided.

When you share your scores or results on social media using our share feature, you are responsible for the content you post and must comply with the terms of those platforms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

RippleSum is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content

We do not guarantee that:

• Daily puzzles will always be available at midnight UTC
• Leaderboards will be 100% accurate or free from manipulation
• Your progress will be preserved indefinitely
• The service will be compatible with all devices and browsers

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RippleSum and its developers shall NOT be liable for:

• Loss of data, progress, or streaks due to technical issues
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
• Damages arising from service interruptions or errors
• Actions taken by third-party services (e.g., hosting providers, database services)

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Maximum Liability: Because RippleSum is free and we do not collect payment, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to $0 USD.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RippleSum and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your use or misuse of the service
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any fraudulent or illegal activity on your part

Third-Party Links and Services

RippleSum may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., social media sharing, privacy policy of Supabase). We are not responsible for:

• The content or practices of third-party sites
• Privacy policies of external services
• Any damages or losses caused by third-party services

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and policies.

Termination

By You

You may stop using RippleSum at any time by:

• Closing your browser or uninstalling the PWA
• Clearing your browser data to remove all local game progress

By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to RippleSum at any time, with or without notice, for:

• Violations of these Terms of Service
• Fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Technical or security reasons
• Discontinuation of the service

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use RippleSum immediately ceases
• Your scores may be removed from leaderboards
• Local game data remains on your device but will not sync

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When changes are made:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised
• Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notification
• Continued use of RippleSum after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms

If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must stop using the service.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with RippleSum:

1. Informal Resolution: Contact us at hello@ripplesum.com and allow 30 days for us to resolve the issue.
2. Formal Action: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or small claims court in your jurisdiction.

Waiver of Class Actions

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration against RippleSum.

Miscellaneous

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RippleSum regarding use of the service.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms to any affiliate or successor without restriction.
