• Anonymous User ID: A randomly generated identifier stored locally on your device to track your puzzle progress and leaderboard rankings.

• Puzzle Progress: Which puzzles you have completed today (resets daily at midnight UTC).
• Streak Data: Your consecutive daily play streak count.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most web applications, we may automatically collect:

• Operating system
• Device screen size (to optimize gameplay display)
• General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)

How We Use Your Information

The data we collect is used exclusively for:

• Gameplay Functionality: Saving your puzzle progress and tracking daily streaks.
• Anonymous Leaderboards: Displaying top scores without revealing player identities.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Most of your game data is stored directly on your device using browser localStorage and IndexedDB. This includes:

• Your anonymous user ID
• Daily puzzle progress
• Streak counts
• Cached puzzle data

Cloud Storage

Leaderboard scores are stored securely on Supabase (a trusted third-party database provider) with the following protections:

• All data transmissions are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Scores are linked only to anonymous user IDs, never to personal information
• Database access is restricted and monitored

Third-Party Services

RippleSum uses the following third-party services:

• Hosting Provider: Our website is hosted on secure infrastructure that complies with industry-standard security practices.

We do NOT use advertising networks, analytics trackers (like Google Analytics), or social media pixels that track your activity across the web.

Cookies and Tracking

RippleSum does NOT use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We use browser localStorage (similar to cookies but more secure) solely for essential game functionality:

• Remembering your daily puzzle progress
• Storing your anonymous user ID
• Caching puzzles for offline play

You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings, but this will reset your progress and streak count.

Children's Privacy

RippleSum is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not require account registration and collect only anonymous game data, our service complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) guidelines.

Your Rights and Choices

Data Deletion

You can delete your local game data at any time by:

• Uninstalling the PWA from your device

To request deletion of your leaderboard scores, email us at hello@ripplesum.com with your anonymous user ID (found in browser developer tools under localStorage → "rippleuserid").

Opt-Out of Leaderboards

While you cannot disable leaderboards entirely, your identity remains anonymous. If you prefer not to appear on leaderboards, simply avoid completing puzzles, as scores are only submitted upon puzzle completion.

International Users (GDPR Compliance)

If you are accessing RippleSum from the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of your stored data (anonymous user ID and scores).
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data from our servers.
• Right to Portability: Receive your game data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to Object: Object to data processing (though this may limit gameplay features).

Data Retention

• Local Data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you clear it.
• Leaderboard Data: Daily leaderboards reset after 30 days. Archived scores are retained for up to 1 year for historical analysis.
• Inactive Accounts: Anonymous user IDs with no activity for 2+ years may be purged from our database.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will:

• Display a notification on the app for 7 days
