RippleSum is a small daily puzzle: tap a number, watch it ripple into the cells around it, and fill the board so that no two touching cells match. This blog is where we explain the ideas behind it and share ways to play it better.
Six boards a day
Every day at midnight UTC there are three new 4×4 puzzles and three new 6×6 puzzles. They unlock in order, so finishing the first opens the second. The three puzzles in a set start from different numbers, which changes how quickly values collide and merge.
One rule, a lot of consequences
Tapping a filled cell copies its value into every empty neighbour, diagonals included, and doubles any neighbour that already holds the same value. Neighbours with a different value are left alone. You win when the board is full and no cell equals any of its neighbours.
Scores, streaks and the archive
Your score is the total of every value your ripples write, so merges are worth more than plain fills. Leaderboards rank by score, with fewer moves breaking ties. Play on consecutive days to build a streak, and use the archive to replay any 4×4 set from the last 30 days.
No account is needed. Your device keeps an anonymous ID so your results stay yours on the leaderboard.
